RECARO ProSPORT Combination Review

Although i have not bought the Recaro Prosport Combination, I was lucky enough to stumble upon a display model recently and found it to be a fantastic piece of equipment. If I was in need of a new child car seat, then the Recaro Prosport Combination would definitely do the trick. It seems to be extremely well put together. The material feels like suede, although I couldn’t see any labels to confirm that.

The padding looked firm enough to give a good ride, but still with a little ‘give’ in it. It is quite heavy, but that is partly due to the steel frame, which makes it feel much safer. It also comes with a carry handle for those of you who wish to remove it from the car once installed.

Recaro Prosport Combination features

  • It has a 5 point harness with the highest capacity of 90 lbs
  • Recaro Side Impact Protection which essentially will protect head, neck, face, torso, pelvis
  • (EPS) foam absorbs the energy after a crash
  • it also has 2 neat little storage pouches
Unfortunately, when I stumbled across the Recaro Prosport Combination, and I do literally mean stumbled, I didn’t have my children with me so I couldn’t get a reaction from them as to the comfort.Looking back though, this is such a lovely seat, that I probably would have been listening to demands to buy it immediately!

Due to the material, the Recaro Prosport Combination is very easy to wipe down when you want to give it a quick clean. If you wanted to give it a proper wash, then unfortunately it is hand wash only. This might be a deal breaker for some people, but to be honest, it is such a beautiful looking seat, that it wouldn’t stop me buying one if I didn’t already have an excellent car seat.

Although I didn’t get to try and install it in a car, it looks pretty easy to fit.Like a lot of cars seats, it is quite big, so it will probably take up a fair amount of room, but I think you can probably say that about most seats these days.As I said earlier, it has a 5 point harness which seemed pretty flexible, so I can’t imagine you would have too much trouble with those.I did like the way the seat offers head protection.

I guess it works a bit like the support straps that racing drivers wear around their necks. The difference being is of course, the seat wings, I don’t know what else to call them, would look like they would stop your child’s head from sideways movement in the event of the unthinkable happening.A neat feature. It also has the ability to adjust the head restraint. This will be useful as your child grows.

RECARO ProSPORT Combination

Overall, a wonderful piece of kit, and if I ever need another child car seat, I will certainly look again at the Recaro Prosport Combination.
